Community Gardens

Year-Round Programming We provide year-round programming that is specially tailored to the needs and desires of your unique gardening community.
For Any Community From schools to grassroots communities and corporations to condominiums, we inspire, educate and enable your organization to grow together with hands-on or hands-off programming.
Community Garden Support BUFCO offers weekly, biweekly, monthly, or occasional visits to support your garden community with Workshops, Planting Parties and Work Bees.

Planting Parties

These fun, all-hands-on-deck events take place right in your garden, with BUFCO gardeners supporting and assisting participants with all aspects of planting and seeding, amending soil, sowing seeds, properly spacing plants from one another, watering best practices, and more. We’ll be there to answer any and all gardening related questions.

  • Early spring: how to plant and sow a cold hardy veggies such as kale, lettuce, Asian greens etc.
  • Late spring: how to plant and sow heating loving veggies such as tomatoes, basil, peppers etc.

Work Bees

Work Bees provide opportunities throughout the season for the community to gather, garden, plan, commiserate, and eat together in the garden. These sessions are facilitated by BUFCO gardeners who are there to help answer questions, build confidence, lug stuff around, inspire innovation, and support all planting and maintenance activities.
