Description
Straw is used in edible gardens in a multitude of applications, most commonly as a mulch. Straw as mulch helps to retain moisture in the soil, helps to suppress weeds, nourishes the soil as it breaks down and decomposes, and reduces soil erosion. When it’s time to plant garlic (mid to end of October), straw is an essential ingredient, being applied as a mulch that does all of the above as well as making it that much more difficult for critters to dig up your newly planted seed garlic.
Bale size is approx. 14″x18″x36″, enough for 3 4’x8′ beds.
